A Truly Incredible Story

“Walk as children of the light”
(Ephesians 5:8)

Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!

“Holy Angel,
you who watch over my poor soul and my wretched life,
do not leave me.
I am a sinner.
Do not abandon me because of my uncleanness,
but rather guide me; extend your power over my mortal body;
take me by my weak and wounded hand,
and lead me on the path of salvation.”

Prayer of the 4th century

“The one and only principle of education that we strove at all costs to apply was that of beauty, goodness, and truth. We fought to follow it in every single domain. We tried to pass on all the joys of our discoveries to our children, whether it was in music, in classical theater, in poetry, in beauty, or in truth. Every talent was therefore needed; we had to be constantly watchful and to master everything. Yes, nowadays parenthood is indeed exhausting, but our children will receive life only in the measure of our struggle. Fairy tales are wonderful, but they all end with the mere utopia: “they got married and lived happily ever after.” In reality, true wonderful stories should end thus: “They got married and treaded a long and arduous road; but because they put all their trust in God, He surpassed all of their expectations.””»
