(Ephesians 5:8)
Parents, leaders, and educators, we have a mission, a duty to lead children's souls toward the Light which will be their guide and their happiness. In order to illuminate the way that lies before each one of us, once a week we invite you to discover some of the words of certain wisemen and witnesses, measuring their worth by the words of St. Thomas Aquinas: “Do not consider the one who speaks, but whatever good you hear from him, confide it to your memory.” (from The Sixteen Ways to Acquire the Treasure of Knowledge by St. Thomas). Happy reading!
I’m convinced that the professors of older grades, and of the universities, are excellent people but – and I insist on this point – it’s an absolute necessity that, at the start of our education, we be entrusted to remarkable men.

“Recreation” is what we usually call the moment when we cease working – but that’s not it at all. Nothing ought to be more recreational than work. Class should be captivating and thrilling. The only thing is that, once again, this takes passionate teachers who are convinced of the greatness of their mission, and not some poor devil, so often mediocre, and so ordinarily ordinary. That these men need to be very learned, I grant you. But that is not enough – what they’re missing is conviction.”
